A Triple Play -Day!

Today is a triple play day,

and it’s not yet baseball’s opening day.

This year, March 25, 2016 is a day right out of the history books, and the Good Book as well. It’s Good Friday, Maryland Day and  the commemoration of the Annunciation ( See Galatians 4:4).

Wow – That’s FOUR  links in one sentence. So much to learn; so little time!

Being able to link to so much history and theology still astounds me – encyclopedias, Bible reference books, and even Bibles are no longer my go-to companions. Wikipedia and Bible Hub, just clicks away, bring up information that I require, along with suggestions to even more paths of inquiry.

It isn’t just age that shows me how little I know.  Technology confirms it! Truly:

The larger the island of knowledge, the longer the shoreline of wonder. Ralph W. Sockman

So today is a day that reminds me of  three times God intervened in human history and misery. What’s more, today goads me to keep learning and answering the question:

Did God say . . .

Yes He did!

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

I hope today is a day of wonder for you, dear reader — and as we wait for whatever are the spoken and unspoken prayers of our hearts, we grow in knowledge of Him who did not spare His only begotten Son for us and for the world.

I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the pit of despair,  out of the mud and the mire . . . and
set my feet on solid ground,  and steadied me as I walked along.
He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. (Psalm 40)
