I adapted a prayer for the healing of a young cancer patient —composed by an Ethiopian Medical community for one of the own.
The petition they made for this child’s healing seemed to be a way I can pray for so many we love whose hurts and heartaches press in as surely as tumors.
“We pray this prayer being in one heart, Lord.
We beg You to do a miracle and wonderful things for this family.
In Jeremiah 33 verse 3, You say, “Cry out to me, and I will answer you and do the biggest things.”
We trust in You, Lord, that you can do miracles and wonderful things.
We trust in You that You can do more than we even expect.
You are above all situations and all diseases. Nothing limits You.
Even in the middle of a terrible storm, there is a way.
In the middle of a hurricane, there is a way.
In the middle of the fire, there is a way.
Nothing is impossible for You.
We humble ourselves before You, and we pray to You for our child, [for whom we pray.]
By Jesus’ name, heal them. By Jesus’ name, touch them.
Because of You, may new things happen. May wonderful things happen.
May You use the medicine from the doctors to heal Him.
By Jesus’ name, may Your hand touch him.
May [their loved ones] not be sad anymore. May they feel Your joyful spirit in their house. May You be the King of their house. Visit them. Look at them. Look at them again and again.
We pray that nothing would block our prayer (reference from Daniel 10:13).
Hear our prayer in You. Amen.”
God bless you dear reader.
As you say, so many peoples and hurts to pray for and about . Tony Evans communicates well, doesn’t je?
So comforting….beautiful 🙏
It is such a comfort — so much going on– so many troubles for people; these prayer warriors gave me a way to pray for the young man, whom we do know, and for others in equally fierce battles.
